The hugely successful summer golf competition organised by the Rotary Club of Royal Wootton Bassett raised £1,700 for Prostate Cancer UK.
The cheque was presented by club president Cari Pridding to the charity’s representative Jim Laing, who has the disease and spoke openly about its symptoms, treatment and the hope that is offered to its sufferers by the work of Prostate Cancer UK.
He offered sound advice to male Rotarians on spotting early signs of the disease and the need for prompt diagnosis. People can visit www.prostatecanceruk.org for help and advice. The club website is www.wbtrc.org.uk
