Police will be holding days of action targeting common complaints such as speeding and anti-social behaviour in Calne.
Two days are planned over the next month as part of a new operation in the town called Operation Mather. One will address traffic and speeding issues and the other will focus on anti-social behaviour and issues relating to pubs and licensing.
Police said officers would be highly visible on the streets of Calne and the surrounding area and would be working with traffic enforcement, housing officers and Wiltshire Council anti-social behaviour officers.
Sergeant Ben Huggins, of Calne neighbourhood policing team, said: “We have set priorities we take from residents in the community.
“This is a proactive operation allowing the neighbourhood policing team to work with partner agencies to target those priorities, such as traffic offences, speeding, drug use and anti-social behaviour in public spaces.
“This is a two-pronged approach; we will be out enforcing the law and offering crime prevention advice.”
Police have used Facebook to gauge what is bothering residents. This has prompted several posts, particularly complaints of speeding on Oxford Road and Abberd Way and drivers using mobile phones.
Sgt Huggins urged residents to continue to inform them through the Calne Police Facebook page and by calling 101 and asking for the Calne NPT.
