Japanese students got a taste of English life on a visit to Marlborough.
They were warmly welcomed to the town and stayed with families to learn about life in the UK.
During the trip the boys attended the Marlborough College Summer School, where they took language lessons and a variety of afternoon activities.
A visit to St John’s Academy was also organised by Tom Nicholls, leader of the Global Ambassadors Group at that school.
The boys met St John’s pupils and spent time making videos with them before watching the Civil War re-enactment together on The Common. This is the second year in a row that a trio has been organised for boys from Tokai School in Nagoya.
Patrick Jackson of Learning Journeys, the organisation co-ordinating the trip, said: “The families who hosted boys all thoroughly enjoyed building bridges between their homes and the wider world and their kindness was much appreciated by their young visitors from afar.”
