A teenager, who worked for months in a Devizes fish and chip shop to buy a top-of-the-range bicycle, has been left shocked by its theft from a secure store.
Schoolboy John Bramwell, 16, of Queens Road, Devizes, had left his blue Bianchi bike locked up in Snuff Street, Devizes, while he visited a friend.
But when he was ready to ride home again, the bike had gone. Now his family is offering a reward for anyone who helps to recover it.
His mother, Julia Bramwell, said: “We reported it to the police and if anyone knows anything about it I would ask them to contact the police.”
John said: “I saved up for ages to buy the bike. I was shocked when I realised it had been stolen.”
The bicycle went missing on July 26. Since then, Mrs Bramwell has heard about a number of others that have gone missing.
The thefts have include a bike belonging to a 75-year-old man, whose cycle was stolen from London Road, Devizes, on August 2.
