A no cold-calling zone is being piloted in Chippenham.
Signs saying residents do not want unscheduled traders visiting their homes will be put up today in the Lords Mead and Barons Mead area between Frogwell and Hungerdown Lane. Chippenham Area Board provided £200 at April’s meeting for posters and door stickers.
Wiltshire councillor Peter Hutton, who secured the funding, said it was the first scheme of its kind in Chippenham.
He said: “The no cold-calling zone has followed on from a number of residents’ concerns of possible rogue traders calling and intimidation. As portfolio holder for public protection, I believe this project will help prevent these types of events.”
