Customers of a coffee shop in Chippenham used pedal power to raise £600 for a charity close to the hearts of three brothers who run Boswell’s shop chain.
They took part in a static bike ride at the Boswell’s in Emery Gate, in aid of Panc-reatic Cancer Research on Saturday.
The fund was set up in memory of Jeremy Burn who founded the Boswell shops in 1972, when they were part of a chain of bakery stores.
He died from the disease in August 2012 and now his sons – Nick, 40, Matthew, 38, and Tim, 37 – have set themselves the target of raising £40,000.
They hope most will come from a 400-mile bike ride between the firm’s shops over four days from August 20.
Matt Burn said: “Knowing people are supporting us so much will make us even more determined on the bike ride.”
