Teenage composer Lily Loraine-Smith has produced a CD of her songs, including one that has won a major award.
Lily, 15, of Northgate Street, Devizes, has put five of her tunes on the disc, One Day, and on Monday was selling copies at the town’s Old Curiosity Market in the Shambles market hall, thanks to market organiser Bill Huntly. The music was recorded at Pete Lamb’s studio in Potterne last month.
Lily, who has been playing the piano since she was five and also plays violin, said: “I love composing my tunes. It really helps me with the stress of studying for GCSEs. I would love to compose for films.”
She is a student at St Augustine’s RC College in Trowbridge and formerly attended St Joseph’s in Devizes.
The first number on the disc, Until the Next Time, won the Simon May award at last year’s Devizes Junior Eisteddfod for best original composition. The disc is on sale at Devizes Fine Kitchens in Northgate Street at £6.50.
