An anti-social Chippenham man who was taken to court by his landlord must now pay £500 court costs.

GreenSquare housing group worked with police to bring about a county court injunction against Paul Simpkins for his anti-social behaviour.

But when police knocked on the door of his Heathfield home on Friday, August 1, Crystal Smith came to the upstairs window and she was forbidden by the injunction from being there.

Mr Simpkins, 43, was arrested on Monday, August 4, for breaching his injunction and found guilty at Swindon County Court the following day.

He must now pay GreenSquare £50 a week for ten weeks to cover the court costs.

Sergeant Phil Connor, of Chippenham neighbourhood policing team, said: “We will always seek to work in partnership with housing officers to bring about a county court injunction to protect innocent members of the community against those people that engage in anti-social behaviour and refuse to respond to reasonable requests to behave as expected by their tenancy agreement.

“These are a powerful tool and those that breach them face the consequences of the courts.”
