Monsoon-like rain and thunder could not dampen spirits on the day Happy’s Circus entertained in the Big Top on Jubilee Field in Yatton Keynell.
Friends of By Brook Valley School and Helping Hands prepared the village hall and the marquee, and lots of fun was had on the tombolas, face and hair painting, and some even braved the weather for some tennis games, thanks to Chippenham Tennis Club members.
The circus had something for everyone, with plenty of slapstick humour for the kids, aerial acts, and even an appearance from Spiderman.
The fundraising was a success too, raising more than £3,000.
Friends members thank everyone who helped plan and put on this event, especially Yatton Keynell Recreation Association for allowing use of Jubilee Field.
The Friends have now raised more than £9,000 this school year, paying for some expensive items such as Fizzbook laptops for KS1 and banks of lockers for KS2.
