On Friday the Wiltshire Air Ambulance had an emergency and landed on the green in front of my house in Calne.
Quite dramatic, as you know they have no funding from the government, shocking, it is funded purely by donations.
I decided on the spur of the moment to have a collection from all the people who were watching the event take place.
I collected £13, it would have been more as some of the bystanders were out walking their dogs and had no cash on them.
I contacted the Wiltshire air ambulance to tell them what I had done they were delighted.
They have asked me to come to their office which is just down the road from me on the Porte Marsh estate, to have a cup of tea and a chat. I will go at the end of this week.
I do not know the outcome of the emergency, I do hope all was well.
Jennie Edge, Calne.
