An end-of-term fundraising day at King’s Lodge School, Chippenham, had pupils’ hair on end as everyone competed to turn-up with the strangest locks on show.
It was organised by Year 6 leaver Lauren Croft who researched the charity Cancer Research UK, thought of a theme and downloaded a fund-raising kit.
Children were encouraged to bring in a donation for the charity and she raised £340 at school, plus another £45.
Lauren said: “I decided to do this because I know a lot of people affected by cancer.
“Children from all different age groups turned up with curled hair, big hair, temporarily dyed hair and some people even wore wigs.”
