Calne’s schoolchildren got together for their own sporting celebration before the Commonwealth Games kicked off.
The Calne Games were held at John Bentley School, and featured the town’s primary school pupils competing in a range of sporting disciplines.
After winning all but one of the events, Holy Trinity CofE Academy was declared the overall winner.
Headteacher Stephen Heal said: “Each year group got its own competition, and we won all but one of them, so overall we were the competition winners.
“We try to work together more than against each other, but it’s always nice to win, and the children were delighted.”
The Calne Games were first introduced two years ago, as part of the build-up to the London Olympics, and look set to become a regular two-year fixture in the town.
Mr Heal said: “It’s great for the pupils to all meet together. They are educated in different primary schools, but they all go to John Bentley in the end.”
