It's never too late to unleash your inner ballerina, according to dance instructor Emma Townley.
She is launching adult ballet classes at Marlborough Leisure Centre tonight.
The 25-year-old, of Burlands Road in Chippenham, is the principal at Dance4Life and has been a qualified dance instructor for three years.
She said: “I found that I was getting a few mums asking me if they were too old for the ballet classes, which is why I decided to start offering adult classes.
“My slogan is ‘dance classes for everyone’, so I pride myself on the fact that it’s not all pink tutus and glitter.
“So far there are a few people who have signed up to the classes but I would love to get the word out there and get a few more people involved.”
Miss Townley, who also teaches Zumba, pre-school dress up and dance and child ballet classes, gained experience teaching adult ballet while instructing at local dance groups before starting her own company last year.
She said: “The atmosphere is great and the people who take the classes are very enthusiastic.
“What come through during the classes is a love of dance and a love of ballet but also it’s quite hard work.
“It has a number of health benefits such as increased core strength, improved posture and longer, leaner muscles, not bulky muscles that you get from a gym workout.
“There are also mental benefits such as the brain being challenged by things such as coordination and timing.”
The Friday classes start tonight from 5.45pm-6.45pm and are open to men and women of all ages and ability. Miss Townley is offering the first class for free. For more information, call (01249) 470445 or visit www.dance4Life.org.uk
