BOYNE Anne Anne passed away at Bassett House Care Home, Royal Wootton Bassett, Wilts on 28 April aged 87 years. Anne was much loved by her family and friends. She was known by many as 'Auntie Anne', the matron of Red Gables children's home in Purton. Many thanks to the staff at Bassett House Care Home for their care of Anne over the last four years. A private cremation will take place. Donations made in Anne's memory can be made direct to The Wiltshire Wildlife Trust. Elm Tree Court, Long Street, Devizes, Wiltshire, SN10 1NJ. Anne was a good friend for many years in Wootton Bassett (it wasn’t Royal when we were there) and we kept in touch after we had moved to live near Weymouth. We should have visited before Easter but were unable to do so thanks to Covid 19 and I am sad that it wasn’t possible. Happy memories will stay for ever. RIP Anne. Our condolences to her family.

I lived at Red Gables in the 70's; Aunty Anne was the Matron during my stay; she helped shape my life and I will always be grateful for her and the ladies of Purton who worked at the home taking care of us. Even after I left, we remained in touch for a while. I Aunty Anne's legacy is recognized for the great work done caring for hundreds of children throughout her career.
