A conetmporary dance company all the way from Lancashire delighted the audience in the Corn Exchange last Wednesday evening.
Ludus Dance performed a theatrical full length work, ID:me, designed to include engaging music and social comment.
Four talented dancers, choreographed by Dylan Quinn, shared their humorous characters, emotions and excellent skill whilst tackling the difficult topic of identity in our modern society.
Their intriguing set design, reminiscent of Hitchcock’s Rear Window, set the scene for the two male and two female characters with their battles and loves performed to an appreciative ‘sell out’ audience.
Ludus place a great deal of emphasis on reaching and engaging young people and the Festival had arranged for their dancers to spend the morning in two local secondary schools, Lavington and Devizes, giving workshops of relevant content and excellent creativity and delivery.
The Festival has continued its support of innovative contemporary dance and the large and appreciative audience, ranging in age from primary to pensioner, confirms that Devizes embraces this fresh art form.
