A spate of low marks have been handed out following the latest batch of food hygiene inspections in Wiltshire.
Officers from Wiltshire Council’s Food and Safety Team have inspected a range of businesses over the last month and this week another round of results has been published.
While some have performed well, other venues have been told to improve their food hygiene standards moving forward.
The Valeroso Lounge in Trowbridge is celebrating a four-out-of-five rating, meaning standards at the restaurant are “good.”
However, three two-out-of-fives have been handed out, with the recipients including pubs like the Dog and Partridge Inn at Calne and the Black Horse Inn at Cherhill.

A two-out-of-five score means that, on the day of inspection, “some improvement” was necessary.
Meanwhile, one cafe, Royal Munchies in Royal Wootton Bassett, was slapped with a one-out-of-five rating, indicating that “major improvement” to hygiene standards was necessary.
