CONSULTATION underway on plans to transform St Mary’s Church in Devizes.
Members of the public now have the opportunity to have their say on plans for the Grade I listed, Norman church.
The plans, which have been put together by St. Mary Devizes Future Group and project lead, Tony Scorer will still see the church used as a hub for the wider community, as well as a place of worship.
A spokesman for the St. Mary Devizes Future Group said: “Our project groups are now involved in detailed research about all aspects of the proposed development, and we are poised to move forward.

“Having given its approval in principle to the development, the church planning authority at Salisbury – the DAC [Diocesan Advisory Committee] – has started a public consultation, which closes on Friday, October 8.”
The plans have already been given the go ahead by Wiltshire Council, and have received support from Devizes Town Council.
