BBC Antiques Roadshow star Marc Allum is coming to Devizes to value your family treasures.
Marc, who lives near Chippenham, will be expertly on hand when the Devizes branch of Cancer Research UK holds its annual Country House Collectibles & Car Boot Sale at Manor Farm, Stert, on May 7.
Organisers are hoping that this, the branch’s major fundraising event, will help raise up to £4,000 to fund research for a cure for cancer. Since 2007, the Devizes branch has raised more than £240,000.
“This year is the first time we’ve had an expert valuer on hand so hopefully there will be some lovely surprises,” said organiser Mary Rennie.
“We usually have around 70 stalls and heaps of buyers, about 350 car loads, and almost everything and anything seems to be sold - from jewellery, art, clothes, militaria, old tools, to wonderful furniture, garden paraphernalia and toys.
“There is something for everybody and there are always lots of happy people staggering back to their cars with their finds. Buyers can arrive from 7.30 a.m. and yes, we get lots of early birds at this event which usually raises £3,500-£4,000.”
