The stars of the BBC’s Countryfile are coming to Malmesbury for Christmas.
The popular presenters of BBC1’s top-rated show will staging a brand new event for the programme, Countryfile Christmas in the Park on December 10th-12th at Charlton Park.
And to herald the coming of the show, Countryfile’s Adam Henson will be in Malmesbury a week before, to open the start of late night shopping in the town, with the mayor, Cllr Paul Smith, at the Market Cross at 6pm on December 3rd.
“Countryfile is Britain’s most watched factual programme with a regular audience of more than six million viewers, the event aims to bring the award-winning elements of the popular programme to a live audience in an immersive festive environment,” said a BBC spokesman.
“BBC Countryfile Christmas in the Park is a brand new event jam-packed with festive experiences that the whole family can enjoy. Nestled in the park’s magical arboretum, the Countryfile Tented Village will provide the perfect winter countryside retreat and play host to a festive feature line up like no other, with the Countryfile presenters as your hosts.
“They’ll also be dropping into feature areas across the show to meet with fans and take a festive snap or two. You might see Ellie taking a walk with the Woodland Trust experts in the arboretum or Adam getting tips from the Fabulous Baker Brothers on the perfect Boxing Day pizza in the Christmas Kitchen.”
The BBC says the event will feature a programme of six shows each day featuring a whole host of special guests.
“Topics will range from discussing thought-provoking environmental trends and winter life on the farm, to hearing about the presenter’s New Year’s resolutions and joining in with the “A Question of Christmas” big Christmas Quiz,” said the spokesman, who added that the event will also feature book-signings by well-known authors, together with a Christmas kitchen, winter woodland walks, a Christmas shopping village, wine advice and cellar and live “Carol-Oke” singing.
