Wiltshire is blessed with a number of restaurants and takeaways to get fish and chips from, and we have rounded up the very best to mark National Fish and Chip day.
Here are the top 10 as rated by TripAdvisor reviewers.
1. The Gladstone Arms
34 Gladstone Road, Chippenham SN15 3BW
This Chippenham pub takes the number one slot for its restaurant rating. One review simply states "The best fish and chips!"
Their beer battered cod, served with chunky chips, peas and tartare sauce also can be modified for gluten free diners.
2. The Greyhound
High Street, Bromham SN15 2HA
It's not only the fish and chips that have been praised, but also the scampi served. Wings of St Mawes deliver the village pub's fresh fish. The Greyhound has also been included in the top five restaurant gardens in Wiltshire, according to the Salisbury Journal.
3. China Chef
119 High Street, Royal Wootton Bassett SN4 7AU
Currently trading in our twentieth year, China Chef offers freshly chipped potatoes and a wide range of fried foods, to take away. One five star review on TripAdvisor reads: "Some of the best Fish & Chips around at a sensible price."
4. Saint Peters Coffee Shop and Restaurant
St. Peters Church High Street, Marlborough SN8 1HQ
The battered fish and chips are a local favourite here. The restored church, built in 1460, also makes a dramatic backdrop to meals.
Booking advised as the restaurant gets very busy.
5. New Calley Arms
2 Ham Road, Swindon SN4 0DF
This countryside fish and chips spot also offers gluten free suppers. The New Calley Arms, a traditional 19th Century village pub, is situated on the edge of the village of Wanborough and three miles from the centre of Swindon.
6. Wyndham Arms
Hindon Road, Dinton SP3 5EG
One review reads: "Visited the Wyndham Arms today with a group of friends for Sunday lunch! Can't fault the Wyndham at all, the service was amazing from both ladies working. Dog friendly pub.
"The food was amazing, I had the belly pork roast which was lovely, the fish and chips and the burger also looked really good, the portions are huge! I would definitely recommend to anyone after a good Sunday lunch.
"I can see why they have 5 stars on trip advisor."
