CORSHAM made progress in the ECB National Club Championship competition, but Potterne bowed out at the same stage on Sunday.
West of England Premier One side Corsham clinched a seven-wicket win over Winterbourne to book their place in the next Group 10 round .
Winterbourne scored 251-7 from their 45 overs, Ben Slade hitting 71, while there were knocks of 51 from both Harry Blackwell and Chris Kislingbury.
Corsham’s fielding was aided by three run outs, while Ashur Morrison took 2-59 and there was a wicket each for Will Wales and Michael Coles, who then led the charge in the reply, hitting 106 off 100 balls,including nine fours and six sixes.
Steve Bullen added 61 off 50 balls and Wales hit 41 as Corsham reached 252-3 in the 40th over and now face Bath on Sunday, May 8 - the day after the two teams do battle in the first match of the new league season.
Meanwhile in Group Nine, Potterne paid the price for a batting collapse as they were ousted by Bournemouth.
The villagers were making good progress when Luke De Souza was the first man out for 45 with the score on 86.
But they then collapsed to 119 all out in the 25th over as Arsalan Abbas and Robert Pack each took four wickets.
Jon Lombard’s unbeaten 42 helped the home side to the target for the loss of four wickets in the 36th over, Ed Young picking up a couple of wickets.
n CHIPPENHAM got their season off to a winning start with a friendly victory at Hinton Charterhouse.
The Somerset men won the toss and batted, a decision they regretted after eight overs with the score at 25-6.
Debutant Stan Alsop tore through the top order with 5-16 off five overs whilst fellow new ball partner, Lee Ward, took 1-10 off four.
Hinton rallied to bring the total up to 80, but a wicket from Denson Narayan and three from Owen Alsop wrapped up the innings.
Aaron Merryweather and Geoff Prudhoe broke the back of the chase before Todd Richardson (11 not out) and Prudhoe (36 not out) steered Chippenham over the line.
