This summer, the Air Tattoo is proud to be celebrating the 90th anniversary of the Royal Air Force with a range of breathtaking aerial displays and ground entertainment.
On Tuesday, June 3 90-year-old RAF veteran, Sqn Ldr Ian Blair DFM, will join two current RAF servicemen who have recently been awarded honours for their courage and leadership: Flt Lt Craig Wilson DFC and Sqn Ldr Jason Sutton OBE.
All will arrive on board an RAF Chinook flown by Flt Lt Wilson. Also on display at the launch will be the RAF's latest jet fighter the Typhoon and there will be a special flypast by a Rolls-Royce Spitfire giving spectators a taste of a special joint 90th anniversary flypast that is planned for this summer's airshow.
TV and Radio personality Chris Evans and wife Natasha Shishmanian will be swapping their recently acquired £5.6m Ferrari Barcelona Spider for two RAF Grob Tutors on Tuesday when the pair fly in to the launch aboard the same type of training aircraft in which HRH Prince William completed his first solo flight earlier this year. Chris, who pilots his own helicopter, is a supporter of the Armed Forces and is keen to lend his support on the RAF's 90th anniversary.
