Rufus Brevett has refused to say why takeover talks between Best Holdings and Swindon Town collapsed.
The former QPR and Oxford United defender was brought on board by potential Town chairman Jim Little as sporting director, but declined to elaborate on the statement put out by Swindon today.
He said: "I really don't want to get involved and I don't know what has gone on. It is the first I have heard about it."
When asked whether the breakdown in negotiations was disappointing and the talks a waste of time Brevett replied: "That's life."
