Calne councillor Ellie Bland
Controversial Calne councillor Ellie Bland is the fourth town councillor to quit the Tories to join the right wing Uk Independence Party.
Coun Bland, who was suspended from the Tory party amid a row over a racist email, follows her husband Dave Bland, Mercy Baggs and John Ireland in quitting the Conservatives.
The UK Independence Party aims to withdraw Britain from the European Union and has hardline views on immigration.
Coun Bland was suspended in November after she was accused of sending a racist email called The Illegal Immigrants Poem.
