Corsham's first Food and Drink Festival will bring local producers together to celebrate Wiltshire’s culinary wealth and diversity this week.
The festival, on Saturday June 18 running from 9am-3pm, will bring a feast of flavours to Corsham High Street as well as the town’s own version of Gardeners’ Question Time.
The event, organised by Transition Community Corsham and co-ordinated by Tricia McLeod, will feature a range of food stalls in the High Street – including British chorizo, delicious jams, homemade sweets and it can all be washed down with a selection of English wines.
Phillip Padden of Transcoco said: “We wanted to organise a food festival because it is a great way to bring together and promote local food growers, producers and retailers.”
Mr Padden said that the festival is a great way of encouraging food and drink enterprise within the region.
Mr Padden said: “Many thanks to Tricia for all her hard work. She has inspired Transcoco to take the initiative for this event.”
Those attending will be able to get advice about producing food at the Gardeners’ Question Time event which will feature garden designer Tim Matcham and Michelle Chapman of ‘Veg Plotter’ blog fame.
An additional festival treat will be a screening of the film ‘Vanishing of the Bees’ on Sunday June 19, 2.30pm at The Pound
