Devizes Guardians has secured its first seat on Wiltshire Council following the victory of Jeff Ody in the Devizes and Roundway South division.

Mr Ody was not present at the count at Devizes Leisure Centre but Judy Rose, secretary of Devizes Guardians, said: "Jeff sends his apologies as he has a long standing family commitment but we are very pleased at the size of his victory.

"The turn out was better than we were expecting and Jeff is absolutely delighted with the result."
