A man suspected of breaking into more than 60 sheds in Calne was arrested during an early morning raid on Friday.
Officers swooped on a home, where they arrested the 20-year-old man, after receiving intelligence that he was behind a recent spate of burglaries across the town.
The three officers raided the home at around 7.30am before searching another two houses, where they seized a quantity of goods thought to have been stolen.
Sergeant Phil Conner said: “This arrest was based on intelligence-led policing.
“Officers arrested a male on suspicion of being involved in burglaries on all these sheds and primarily the break-ins on all these allotments.
“CID have been involved in the investigation, as well as the volume crime team in Melksham.
“The man is now under investigation for all these break-ins.”
Overnight on April 23, 53 sheds were broken into at the Beversbrook allotments in North Calne, when a rotavator worth £300 was taken.
Between May 10 and 11 twelve more sheds in Calne were broken after their padlocks were forced open.
The man has been released on police bail with a strict curfew pending further inquiries.
