An elderly woman has died at Devizes canal towpath after emergency services rushed to the scene.
Wiltshire Police say they were first called to the scene at St Josephs Place in Devizes at approximately 6.40pm on Thursday, June 27.
The South Western Ambulance Service, who were already at the scene before police arrived, confirmed that a woman in her 70s had died suddenly.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner," said a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police.
Very little other information is currently known about the incident, and the exact cause of death will likely not be confirmed until after the coroner's inquest.
