AFTER two years of planning and building work Chippenham's church hall at St Andrew's is set to reopen.
Except it has been renamed King Alfred's Hall in memory of the town's link to the hero of the Anglo Saxons.
Rod Key said: "It's been possible by the sale of old Girls School and the work of volunteers George Silk and Keith Larkin and many others. It has a new kitchen, toilet block, new oak door entrance foyer and the magnificent ceiling has been restored."
There's an open weekend on March 30-31. The hall will be re-dedicated by the new Bishop of Bristol.
