Pupils in Calne will perform with the Bath Philharmonic on June 12 as part of a £10,300 lottery-funded project reflecting on the centenary of the First World War.
The pupils from John Bentley, St Mary’s and the Springfields Academy, have researched the town’s wartime past by speaking to local people and looking on the town’s war memorial.
They have created a musical presentation based on their findings following seven days of creative workshops with a team of Bath Philharmonia’s professional musicians.
The concert is at St Mary’s Church at 6pm and entry is free. A filmed recording of it will be archived at the Calne Heritage Centre and the Wiltshire and Swindon History Centre.
