A lorry caught fire on Burbage Wharf this morning causing long traffic delays.
The incident on the A346, involving an Aster Properties lorry, happened at about 10.30am.
The A346 was closed both ways as a result of the fire which was caused by an electrical fault.
Sergeant Vince Logue said: "There were four people in the lorry but no one was hurt. Everything was going off on the dashboard and the driver looked behind him and saw the smoke."
While the emergency service were at the fire a bomb disposal squad drove through the scene but Sergeant Logue said they were attending a separate incident.
The emergency services are now clearing the scene and the road is expected to reopen shortly.
